Friendship or Friendless?

Princess Know-It-All is here, today with a bit of advice for all those people who just can't seem to figure out why they don't fit in this school year. Maybe you're new. Maybe you're not new but your BFF has a new BFF and you're left sitting alone at lunch.
      School can be tough.
Being new can be tough. Seeing your BFF abandon you can be tough. Trying to get someone to be your BFF can be tough. Sometimes, school can feel pointless when all you want to do is sit in your room alone, with only the company of your cat or dog or maybe your hamster and a box of chocolates. You might want to pick out chocolates one by one and sigh deeply whenever you find the gooey cherry filling chocolate that no one seems to like, because gooey cherry filling matches your mood perfectly. You give up on school and stop trying altogether.
Don't. Don't stop trying just because you don't have someone to eat lunch with, because this is one of the easiest things to change in school. Here's today's advice.
If you're new, you have it easy. I know it might not feel easy--at all--but you're going through so much change right now that pretty much everyone is going to try to reach out and welcome you in. New kids get all the help, whether it's from the teachers, the old students, or the rest of the staff. Don't get me wrong--being new is still hard. But there's support everywhere for you. Sometimes, all you have to do is ask if you can sit with a group at lunch, or if you can sit next to a nice, outgoing girl in class, or if you can have a little extra help from the teacher on an assignment.
For old students who never really made any BFF's, it might be a bit harder. Some people might have already labeled you as that shy kid who never hangs out with anyone, but you can change that. All you have to do is maybe hang out with some new kids, join in after school activities, or introduce yourself. You can even just say "hi" to people you sort of know and smile and be friendly to everyone. Your fellow students will want to be your friend before you know it.
And if your BFF from preschool ditches you? Not cool, but you can reconnect easily. All you have to do is ask them to hang out again some time. If they say they're busy, it's okay. Don't give up! You can always ask again, or ask them why they don't hang out with you anymore. You have to be honest with them and communicate well. Shutting them out never works. Even if things aren't the same between you anymore, don't be afraid to make new friends.
Remember this advice, and you'll go from friendless to friendly in no time. Hope this helps!

Welcome to September

Princess Know-It-All is here, and welcome to September!
Yes, it's that time of year again. Back to school, back to a daily routine, back to wrestling with lockers, back to trying to dress to impress, back to bare trees, back to rain. By now, most schools have probably either started or are starting very soon. I know, school might be a very harsh thought right now. But today I'm here to give you three things to look forward to, even if you're already wishing it was summer again.
Aren't you looking forward to seeing old friends and classmates this year? Whether you're in middle school, high school, or just starting middle or high school, you can't see everyone over the summer. There will be some people you haven't seen for months, and it's time to reconnect! Or if you haven't seen your close friends for a while, it's time to catch up on summer stories! I know when I go back to school, old faces are the ones I'm looking forward to the most.
But there are new faces to look forward to as well. New students, new friends, new teachers. It's time to meet and greet the new people at your school. Some of them might be with you for the rest of your public education, and it's better to have more friends than to have distant acquaintances. If you're an old student, it's time for you to reach out and welcome the new kids, and if you're new, it's time to connect and start off your school year the right way. No matter who you are, meeting new people is always fun!
And last, but certainly not least, there are lots of holidays and breaks to look forward to. Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, winter break, mid winter break, and New Year's Day are just a few things that are worth the wait. The school season can be tough, but it'll be over before you know it! You might be wondering, this is an advice blog, where's the advice? Well, today's advice centers around school. No matter how hard it can be, do your best and you'll make it through. It doesn't matter how many friends you have, how pretty you are, or what you wear. This school year, maybe you can even have some fun at school! I enjoy school myself, and I know anyone else can, too. I wish you all an amazing September!
